Hi and welcome to mycountryside.org.uk (formerly countryside-walks.org.uk).
I am Phil (my screen name on various sites is DaylightGambler) - I am a freelance web developer, and I run a print business (www.wheredidthetigergo.co.uk).
When I am not work (and lets be honest, as a freelancer that isn’t too often) - I like to get outdoors and enjoy the countryside., particularly:
- Hiking with my dogs - I try and do a long walk (15-20 miles), ideally every week, usually in Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire (hopefully in the Summer a bit further afield!). I usually take at least one of our two dogs - Rolo, a Border Terrier, and Angel (not our choice of name), a German Shepherd. Both dogs love walking, although Rolo tends to get bored unless a ball is involved, so sometimes I just take Angel. I either walk on my own, or with a friend (guest walkers, I suppose) - occasionally my wife comes along, although as her job involves a lot of walking, she doesn’t appreciate walking in her spare time as well!

- Driving my Land Rover and going to Land Rover events. I drive a ten year old 110 Defender 300 TDI - which only ever goes off-road at events on private land or occasionally (and responsibly) on green lanes. I am a member of the excellent ‘Series 3 & 90-110 Owners Club’ - see www.thelandroverclub.co.uk

- Outdoor Events: such as the English Heritage Festival of History, East of England show etc.
